There will be a Special Community Meeting of the Mayor and Council on
Monday, September 23, 2019 at 6:00PM
at the Keyport Municipal Building,
Council Chambers, 70 West Front Street, Keyport, NJ,

for public input and discussion regarding the redevelopment of 75 Manchester Avenue.

No formal action will be taken on this matter at this meeting.

Keyport Police Department

The Keyport Police Department has officially existed since December 13, 1926.  Organized Law Enforcement has existed in Keyport since 1850, when the town had a town marshal / constable who were assigned to patrol the business district and wharf areas.

The Department currently consists of 16 Police Officers, 2 full time civilian communications operators and 2 civilian administrative support staff. There are a number of part time Class II Special Police Officers and Communications Operators who serve as needed and our complement of School Crossing Guards.

Currently the administration and day to day operations of the Department is handled by  Chief Mark Hafner,  Captain Shannon Torres and Lt. Michael Ferm.  In addition, there are  five Sergeants, Patrol Officers, and a Detectives Bureau.

All work diligently to keep Keyport safe for residents, business owners and visitors.
