2/2/2017 - St. Patrick's Day Information

 

12th ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

Saturday, March 25, 2017, Kick-off will be at 1:00 PM

The parade will have the same route as last year. Beginning at St. Joseph’s Church on Maple Place, the parade will move over West Fourth Street and continue on Maple Place to Broad Street where it will then head down to West Front Street, ending at Fireman’s Park.

We are proud to announce this years’ Grand Marshal is Augustine “Gus” Aversa. Our Deputy Grand Marshal is Elizabeth “Betty” Smith.  Gus, who is 90 years young, started the famous Mike’s Subs in Keyport in 1961.  He served in the United States Navy and is a World War II Veteran.  Betty, who is a lifelong resident of Keyport, is 95 years young. She worked many years at the famous Ye Cottage Inn and the Enchanted Florist in Keyport. Betty has attended almost every type of parade in
Keyport for at least the last 80 years.

The following bands will be marching in our parade: St. Brendan the Navigator Pipes and Drums, Pipes and Drums of the Jersey Shore Shillelagh’s, St. Columcille Pipes and Drums, Patrick Torphy Pipes and Drums, Christian Brothers Academy and Raritan High School Marching Band.

A few of the bands will return to a few Keyport establishments, for your listening pleasure.
