The Borough of Keyport, Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) is funded through a grant that the Borough received from the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs (DCA). NPP offers various types of assistance to a specified Target Area within the Borough.
A major component of the NPP is Housing Rehabilitation, as well as programs that address other needs of the neighborhood. Whether you are a Home owner, Renter, Commercial Property Owner or Business Owner in the NPP Target Area, you will benefit from the presence of the program in your neighborhood.
Once the Grant is received, there is a requirement by NJ DCA is to hire a Coordinator. If you live or work in the Target area, you may have met Carla Cefalo. Carla was hired in March of 2007 and has completed Housing Condition Surveys, Infrastructure Surveys and Resident Surveys in order to identify areas that may need improvement. A Planning Committee was appointed by Mayor Rob Bergen. The Committee met monthly to formulate a work plan required by DCA. You may find some pertinent documents below.
If you would like additional information, please call Carla Cefalo, NPP Coordinator at Borough Hall, Ph. (732)739-5138. All phone calls and appointments are kept strictly confidential. You can also email Carla at ccefalo@keyportonline.com.
