The Keyport Police Department has officially existed since December 13, 1926. Organized Law Enforcement has existed in Keyport since 1850, when the town had a town marshal / constable who were assigned to patrol the business district and wharf areas.
The Department currently consists of 16 Police Officers, 4 full time civilian communications operators and 1 civilian administrative support staff. There are a number of part time Class II Special Police Officers and Communications Operators who serve as needed and our complement of School Crossing Guards.
Currently the administration and day to day operations of the Department is handled by Chief George Casaletto and Lt. Anthony Gallo. In addition there are four Patrol Sergeants, Patrol Officers, two Detectives and Jack, Keyport’s’ K9 patrol.
All work diligently to keep Keyport safe for residents, business owners and visitors.
